What is battery storage and how does it work?
Battery storage works with your solar PV system by diverting and storing the excess exported energy generated, therefore allowing you to get the most out of your solar energy both day and night and maximising your savings from solar PV. Adding battery storage to your solar PV system further increases your self consumption and reduces your reliance on the grid.
What are the advantages of battery storage?
The scale of savings and benefits from adding battery storage to your solar PV system will depend on how much energy you use and when you use it, but include:
Lowering fuel bills – installing battery storage alongside your solar PV system allows you to maximise your savings
Use more of the energy you generate
Reduce carbon emissions – by maximising your use of renewable energy, your carbon emissions are reduced further
Reliability and resilience – energy storage provides back up power during any disruptions and also flexibility for the national grid
Financial incentives
Solar PV is eligible for Feed-in Tariffs and you will earn a tariff for each kWh of electricity generated by your system. You will also receive another tariff for each kWh of electricity you export, which can provide a significant contribution towards the overall cost of your solar PV installation.

+ What are the benefits of installing battery storage and how much will it save me?
This will depend on a number of factors including your location, the size of your solar power system and your energy plan.
A battery storage system can store excess solar-generated energy from a solar system, or energy sourced from the grid, for use at a later time. You can then use this stored energy for free, instead of importing electricity from the grid. Depending on your electricity provider and tariff, you may be able to take advantage of using your battery when prices are highest.

Yes, battery storage is suitable for retro fit applications and there are solutions for all system sizes.
+ How long will my battery storage system last?
Our battery Packs are guaranteed to last a minimum of 4000 cycles, So based on one full cycle per day this would be 10.95 years however it would be very rare that a typical home would do a full cycle on a day to day basis, because of short days in the winter and very long days of daylight in the summer a typical cycle pattern per year would be around 260 full cycles per annum meaning the expected lifetime would be around 15 years.
