Latest MCS Installer Certification

Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme, supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy which provides certification for microgeneration technologies used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources.

It is also a requirement of the Domestic RHI scheme that all heating systems are certified by MCS. This means that in order to be eligible for RHI payments you will need to provide an MCS certificate number as part of your application, to confirm that your heating system has been installed in line with the MCS installation standards.

Latest MCS Installer Certification

Total Renewable Solutions is proud to be a MCS certified installer and as part of the scheme we undergo regular surveillance visits from NAPIT to ensure our installations meet the strict criteria for the scheme.

Following a recent inspection, we are delighted to have received confirmation of our ongoing MCS Installer Certification for Solar Thermal, Solar PV, Biomass and Heat Pumps.

A huge well done to our team and thank you for all their hard work!

Solar PV – What is it and what do I need to consider?

Solar PV systems, also known as photovoltaics (PV), capture energy from the sun using photovoltaic cells. These cells do not need direct sunlight to work and therefore your Solar PV system can still generate electricity on a cloudy day, which can then be used to run household appliances and lighting.

If you are interested in a solar pv system, this summer really is the time to invest. The Feed-in Tariff which pays you for both the energy you generate, and the energy you export back to the grid, will soon be gone for good. The tariff is a guaranteed payment for 20 years and the deadline to take advantage of the FIT scheme is the end of March 2019.
